Day 1
Discover the "Little Amazon" at Sicao Green Tunnel

If you're in Tainan, the Sicao Green Tunnel is an absolute must-see! This enchanting spot stretches around 1.5 kilometers and offers a unique bamboo raft tour that takes you through a lush mangrove ecosystem. The water is crystal clear, and if you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of fiddler crabs and mudskippers along the shore. Before you hop on the raft, you'll be equipped with life jackets and straw hats. Don't forget to slather on some sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun. The tour guide does a fantastic job of sharing the history and ecology in a fun and engaging way, plus they’ll point out the best photo ops. After your raft adventure, make sure to check out the nearby Sperm Whale Specimen Hall and the De-Yang Warship Memorial Park for even more exploration.

“Floating High-Stilt House” Taijiang National Park Visitor Center

Our next stop is the "Most Beautiful Visitor Center," also known as Taijiang Academy. This unique spot is the only visitor service center in Taiwan that actually floats on the river. The building's predominantly white design, paired with a light blue roof, seamlessly blends with the river's surface. With the addition of water-based installation art, it's become a favorite photo op in recent years. Interestingly, some of the walls are made from oyster shells, a nod to the area's rich oyster farming tradition!

The fort's architecture tells tales of its past, with visible cannonball marks adding to its charm rather than detracting from it. Let's wrap up our culinary adventure with a must-try Tainan specialty: beef soup. Tainan is famous for its numerous beef soup joints, each offering a unique twist. Today, we're spotlighting A-Yu, a beloved spot known for its long lines. Here, you can pick your favorite cuts of warm body beef and toss in a variety of hotpot ingredients or veggies. Don't miss out on their self-serve braised meat rice, which boasts a signature Tainan sweetness.
